The Only Permanent Hair Removal Procedure endorsed by the FDA

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the practice of permanent hair removal by the insertion a fine probe into the hair follicle’s opening then applying heat, destroying the hair follicles ability to regrow.  It is the only procedure recognized by the FDA as permanent.
Unlike other hair removal options, Electrolysis can be performed on the largest variety of skin and hair types.  Scroll down for pricing.

How does electrolysis work?

The treatment involves placing a sterile probe into the base of the hairs follicle to transmit electrical energy.  The current heats the lower 2/3 rds of the follicle destroying the hair’s germ cells and is then lifted out of the follicle with tweezers. Electrolysis VS Laser and IPL

There are many factors that go into deciding which hair removal method is best for you,  including pain, cost, time involved, and expected outcome.  Electrolysis and laser hair removal or IPL (impulsed light) methods are based on two different technologies.  Both are aiming to kill the reproductive germ cells in the base of the follicle.

Electrolysis uses a fine probe placed directly into each hair follicle to be treated. Heat is applied to the hair follicle and the hair is lifted out, as we have mentioned above.

Laser hair removal emits a  beam of light energy, heating only dark pigmented hair at the base of the follicle.  The light doesn’t emit to white or light hair because the pigment of the hair is what the light is attracted to.  After treatment, the hair is should to fall out. Factors that reduce the effectiveness of laser treatments include age, skin color and the stage of growth the hair is in.  Laser hair removal may reduce growth…but it does not permanently remove all of it.

Laser hair removal  is considered relatively new compared to electrolysis, so there are no long-term results to base an assessment on but we do know lasers can cause skin damage.  Darker skin toned individuals run a risk of discoloring skin causing hyper-pigmentation. In addition, we can’t rule out the possibility of skin cancer when using forms of light. Some clients have told us, their laser treatments caused hair to grow more!

Women and Hormones

Woman experience hormonal changes which cause unwanted hair growth along with medical issues. Hirsutism is the medical diagnosis for male pattern hair growth on women. Description of Hirsutism is excessive body hair in a masculine distribution pattern resulting of heredity, hormone dysfunction, glandular disturbances or medications. Although many of our clients are recommended by a physician, referrals are not required.

What to expect when starting Electrolysis

Do not tweeze your chin hair

Women who start tweezing chin hair usually find themselves with darker, courser hair growth than before tweezing.  Why?  Our blood is the food for our hair follicles. Hormones like testosterone and corticord steriods are free  flowing if they are not binding their  assigned proteins in our blood stream therefore follicle stimulation. When you tweeze, you are causing more blood flow to the chin causing redness, hense feeding the hair follicle with more hormones resulting in coarser hair than before they started to tweeze.  We suggest shaving or clipping the hairs to skin level with trimming or cuticle scissors.  If you are considering the process of Electrolysis, you will have to stop all tweezing so your electrologist has a chance to treat every hair.

Electrolysis For Males

For many men, hair removal regimens are essential to attaining a well-trimmed look. Frequently, excess hair on your back or shoulders, around the ears or between the eyebrows grows back faster than you can remove it. Or perhaps you are a competitive athlete for whom regular body hair removal is a necessary chore. Unlike other hair removal methods, professionally performed electrolysis eliminates unwanted hair permanently with unsurpassed results. Electrolysis is effective on all skin and hair types. No other solution claims such universal acceptability and success. With continually advancing technology, equipment and treatment protocols, electrolysis is more comfortable and effective than ever before. Transform your image to attain that confident, stylish, and well-groomed look you deserve!

Treatment sessions can range from 15 minutes to more than an hour depending on the area being treated. Based on a thorough and confidential consultation, we will provide you with a tailored treatment plan that will address your specific areas of concern.

Electrolysis After Treatment Care

  • DO NOT TOUCH the treated area. The cleaner and drier the area, the less irritation you will have. If you catch yourself touching the area, please use the alcohol prep pads, provided for you after your treatment.
  • The treated area will be red for 30 minutes to an hour – depending on your type of skin.  If you have minor irritation, it is usually from dirt and/or sweating.
  • Avoid working out 12-24 hours after your treatment.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, skin exhortation’s and Alpha-Hydroxy type products, etc. for 48 hours.
  • When treating areas of the body (usually face not included unless you have moist skin), tiny scabs may appear on the second or third day after treatment. THIS  IS NORMAL.  Please Do not pick or pull them off if you want speedy healing. You may also use Neosporin or another antibiotic CREAM…we recomment not using the antibiotic ointments.
  • Leaving the area alone to heal is best. If you have slight puffiness, an ice compress will help but the reddened skin (blood flow) is a natural reaction to the healing process. If ice is needed when you get home, make sure the compress is disinfected prior to use.

Electrology is the science of permanent hair removal. Using state-of-the-art technology, a minute amount of electricity is gently applied to the base of the hair follicle. This process destroys the hair growth tissue. Therefore, the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated. Electrolysis is essential to realizing the look you want and it is more effective than ever before

If you want permanent hair removal, electrology is the only way to achieve this goal.

Unlike other hair removal options, professionally performed Electrolysis eliminates unwanted hair, permanently, with unsurpassed results. Moreover, it does so for the largest variety of skin and hair types. Laser promoters compare laser to electrolysis although laser assisted hair removal is considered a temporary method. It has not been evaluated for long-term safety of the patient’s skin and health. Waxing, Threading and Tweezing are alike. However, ingrown hairs and discoloration may result. Additionally, they may cause an increase in hair growth activity. Depilatories and Shaving can cause an irritation to the skin while the hair re-grows quickly. These methods can require a lifetime of maintenance. Many can appear inexpensive but cost more due to long term use and are found to be inconvenient. Electrolysis works on most areas of the body to give you smooth, sleek healthy looking skin. No other solution claims such universal acceptability and success.

The American Electrology Association has written Standards for Infection Control following the most recent recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Association for Practitioners in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).

The number of treatments necessary varies with each client. Treatment sessions can range from 15 minutes to more than an hour depending on the area being treated. Factors such as hair growth cycles, the quantity and structure of hair presented, previous use of temporary hair removal methods, heredity, hormone function, certain medication and stress influence the treatment program for each individual. Electrolysis is effective on all skin and hair types. No other hair removal solution can claim such universal acceptability and success. It is important to follow the recommended treatment plan to achieve optimum results

Excessive hair growth, known as hirsutism can range from fine, vellus hair to dark, coarse hair on the face and body. Deep, coarse hairs cannot always be eliminated with one treatment; thus, breaking down the hair growth cells may require addition treatments. Based on a personal and confidential consultation, your Electrologist will design a treatment plan that addresses your specific hair removal needs.

Electrology fees are based on the length of your treatment, which may range from 15 minutes, up to one hour and can be easily worked into almost any budget. There are no UP-FRONT charges and your individual consultation is FREE! Considering the time and money lost on fraudulent claims of permanent hair removal and laser hair reduction, electrolysis is by far the most cost effective choice.

Hairs have differing cycles of growth, many of which are not visible on the surface of the skin at the same time. The follicle produces the hair from the blood supply, and discards it eventually through shedding. The process of growth, rest and replacement are known as the hair growth cycle. The sequence of events is repeated constantly until a hair ceases to be formed.

Most clients find electrolysis to be a comfortable experience. With continually advancing technology, equipment and treatment protocols, Electrolysis is more comfortable and effect than ever before. Electrolysis can help you transform your image through smooth hair free skin.

Immediately following treatment, there may be slight redness, which varies with each individual. The latest technology has made Electrolysis more comfortable and effective than ever before. Your Electrologist will provide you with post treatment instructions and the personal attention you need. You are assured of the best care from a skilled hair removal professional.

Electrolysis works on all skin and hair types. It can be applied to most facial and body parts, including: Eyebrows, Chin, Upper & Lower Lip, Jaw line & sides of the face, Breast & Underarms, Abdomen, Bikini line, Legs and Back. Based on a personal and confidential consultation, your electrologist will design a treatment plan that addresses your specific hair removal needs. There is no better solution than Electrolysis, a treatment that’s as individual as you are.

Unwanted hair can be caused by hormonal changes brought on by pregnancy. Electrolysis can be performed on any normal skin. This includes pregnant women. We suggest that you seek the advice of your physician before beginning treatment. Electrolysis can enhance your natural beauty with smooth, hair-free and healthy-looking skin for a glowing look that’s uniquely you!

Electrolysis can be performed in most moles where States allow it. Your Electrologist may require written approval from your physician.

The American Electrology Association has established specific standards for the profession including a national board certification credential, Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE). This designation indicates that the electrologist has successfully passed comprehensive national testing. Once awarded the CPE Credential, the electrologist must fulfill continuing education requirements and/or be re-tested in order to maintain the prestigious CPE status.Membership in the American Electrology Association indicates the electrologist is keeping current with their field. Many people find an electrologist through their local Yellow Pages and the Internet which contain valuable information regarding professional credentials. Sometimes, family and friends can make excellent recommendations. Also, one can ask a physician, who is familiar with electrolysis, for a referral.
